Exceptional site. Gauntlet from '81-'84 went from Ensign to Lieutenant while there with lots of fond memories of places like the Stoned Crow in the PI. Now retired and working with USMC VMAQ squadrons. Keep up the good work shipmate.

VAQ-136's history with USS Midway and Independence covers my own. I was in Atsugi when the squadron relieved VMAQ-2. As aircrew with HS-12. I flew search missions when the squadron lost an aircraft in late 1987. The squadron re-entered my life when I returned to Japan with USS Independence. All of the memories this squadron was part of will last forever. Thanks
