Hi, I was a member of the Gauntlets from 2002-2005 . . . currently the Flag Aide on the Kitty-hawk. Saw your website and thought it was cool.

This is really cool. I can't believe I am running into my old shipmates. I was with the Gauntlets in 1991-1994 with the Avionics shop as an ATAN. I had some wonderful times with the squadron. I miss you guys a lot. Jam the hell out of the enemy. I am looking for AEAN Shannon Anthony, AT1 Shields, or anyone in the squadron during those years.

My Navy experience and schooling has finally paid off. I now own an Electrical shop. We rebuild Alternators, Starters and Generators. Most anything DC.

Funny, last night we were at a home poker game and some guy there has the GULF-WAR VET Plates on his car. I asked him where he was stationed and he said 100 miles off the coast of Iraq. Hmmm. I said yeah I was over there too, I was on the USS Midway. He said "Bullshit!". I said "Seriously!"
Small World!

My Name goes down in History!

PHOTO OF MY LOCKER!
Thanks Troy for the photo!

Served in VAQ-136 from 80-84 and again from 88-91. VA-115 from 93 until they went to the Hornet. Seeking anyone who served in the Gauntlets in the late 80's who could help me "prove" to the V.A. that I suffered a back injury while "humping transmitters." Great site Troy.

Troy was a very smart man when I first met him in the Line Shack way back when he could barely carry tiedown chains. Thanks Troy for keeping it real shipmate.

From a former Yoko Sailor. I was on the Midway and the Indy and had a chance to deploy with the Iron Claws. Those Prowlers never cease to amaze me.

Pretty cool site here. I guess you don't appreciate something until it has passed but I look back on the times I spent there and all the shipmates known. Retired in 2004 and now work Telecommunications for a Railroad. Something about big chucks of steel I guess. Hang in there and thanks to all of those to whom I was able to share your friendship. Ciao

I was with VAQ-136 in the AT shop from 1983 until 1986. Best tour I ever had. Was looking for info about Capt Chuck McGrail who was the CO of the Midway at the time and came across this site. Really nice, brings back a lot of cool memories.

Mac was correct. The other two EW's were Larry Hayes and Steve Cain. I was more than a little surprised to bump into this site. The first XO, CDR Kentopp, provided the actual Gauntlet for the squadron. My crew, Lt Harry Morse (Hamburger Harry), Lt Doug Young (Hamburger Helper), and Ens Butch Brown. All the enlisted EWs left the squadron after the first deployment aboard Kitty Hawk, late 1974. The 'Pilot' program was over. Hmmm, a lot of memories. Thanks for the site.
