Who am I?
|
In January of 1989, I reported to VAQ-136 onboard USS
Midway, CV-41. I spent three years with the Gauntlets, sailing the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and the
Persian Gulf.
This was my first command in my ten-year career in the U.S. Navy. I began as a lowly E-1 with the designation of Aviation Machinist's Mate Airman Recruit (ADAR). When I left VAQ-136 in January 1992, I had achieved the rank of E-4 and the designation of Aviation Machinist's Mate Petty Officer Third Class (AD3).
With this said, I hope you will enjoy my tribute to what I consider the Fleet's Finest Electronic Warfare Squadron.

Please Help!!!
If you have any recollections of Gauntlet history, I want to hear about it! I am attempting to add to this documentation of the squadron's history and am always looking for new information. If anyone has any history, information, photos, or memorabilia they would like to share with others, I would very much like to include it here. Scans of photos or memorabilia would be the best way for submission. However, if you don't have access to a scanner, snail mail is always an option. Anything received would most definitely be returned to the sender. Full credit will be given to the owner of photos and to the submitter of information. If you have something you think would enhance this collection, please don't hesitate to contact me.
