Squadron Flag
I acquired this flag on ebay and according to the seller, there's an
interesting story behind it:
I was with VMFP-3 and deployed on the Midway in 80-81. We had the
normal bantering going on with the Navy guys, of course and it was
especially heavy with VAQ-136. While in port at Subic Bay, two of my
fellow F-4 electricians and myself ran into some -136 members in Olongapo
city and the insults were flying as usual. Early that morning while
getting back on ship, we passed the top of the officers brow and I saw the
VAQ-136 flag on the side of the gang plank. My two friends went back to
the bottom and distracted the security detail while I walked down from the
top and liberated the flag. That caused a bit of a stir and the flag has
been with me ever since through nine moves. I ran into Sid Harris at KC
Aviation Dallas in the 90's and asked him about the flag, as he was with
-136 at the time it disappeared. He remembered it and about died when I
told him it was hanging on my wall at home. He had to contact some of his
friends and tell them the Marines were behind it. That's it... Take care
and enjoy the flag, Ralph.
I'm glad Ralph decided to list this flag on ebay because the way I see it,
the flag has now been liberated from its Marine captors and is now back in
Navy hands..... framed and hanging on the wall of a former Gauntlet! :)

I'm sorry, but I am not
selling the items in this gallery. The items shown here are from my own personal collection
or were submitted by former crewmembers for viewing on this site.
For anyone interested in obtaining Gauntlet memorabilia, eBay always has much to offer. I recommend using the "Search" tool on eBay's
homepage, using the following keywords:
"VAQ-136" & "EA-6B Prowler"
Some of the items frequently offered are:
Patches, lapel/hat pins, hats, photos, postcards, cruise books, plastic models, and much more.
In addition to eBay, there are many online stores offering VAQ-136 memorabilia. Patches and hats are the most common items, with shirts and sweatshirts also available.
